Is there any chance that you've gotten some contaminated fuel? Try draining the carb into a glass jar and look for water, dirt, jelly etc. in the gas.

You need to post the year also but if there are no screws that you can see it could be that you need to twist the lens to remove it or more likely it is a push in lens and you would need to grasp it well enough to be able to pull it out and off or possibly VERY carefully get a knife edge or similar between the lens and the light housing and pop it off. If you have the lens off and you are referring to the bulb you will need to twist it a little to remove it.
