Heedlight bulb keeps blowing

several reasons , it could a cheap bulb or the back or inside of
bulb holder itself has a lot of corrosion, or it is lose in the socket
and if that is the case it will shorten the life of the bulb, also you
should never touch the bulb with your bare hands or use a oil soaked rag . becareful when you change it any oil from your fingers
will shorten the life. if you have extra power going to the bulb will
shorten the life, check your voltage coming in to the socket . check
with just the key on and when it is running, compare your readings.

Sounds like jetting is to rich, recheck settings and fuel height settings, need to get the fuel mixture correct as that bike will develop other running issues due to carbon build up in the rear cylinder. check out www.roadstarclinic.com as this is a good source for information on this bike

It dies while driving at road speed

Possibly water in the fuel, bad fuel pump, plugged fuel filter. First need to figure out if it is spark problem or fuel problema and I would bet it is a fuel issue.

I had an 06 Road Star and it is a great bike.

Hope this helps.
