Main cause The wiring is faulty (short circuit, open circuit). The composite power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
Making Corrections
1. Connectors
Are the connectors J204 on the main power supply PCB and the connector J300 on the DC controller PCB connected securely?
NO: Connect the connectors securely.
2. Main power supply PCB Is 24 V supplied by the main power supply PCB (J204) to the DC controller
PCB (J300)?
(J204-5 <-> J300-5: OVU3, J204-6 <-> J300-6: OVU3,
J204-7 <-> J300-7: 24VU3, J204-8 <-> J300-8: 24VU3)

how many copies do you have, when the last time did you change the drum unit or fixing film?

Try first to check the fixing film if you have double smudged and non fixated copies.

Repeating dots are usually the result of foreign material on the drum charge roller or toner adhesion (like a little smashed melted blob) on the developer cylinder. You can clean the charge roller with water. To clean the dev cylinder, wipe the toner off the area, then use strong alcohol to clean any area with the little "blob" buildup. Rotate cylinder and repeat for any remaining. You can usually see the area before you wipe it by looking for a darker spot on the dev cylinder than the rest of the coverage area. If it comes back up, may have been a fluke. However, if it comes back, check your Fixing Assy for jammed paper, or damage to the Fixing Film (Upper Roller). Replacing the Film is not hard. After you remove the Fixing Assy., its a couple cables and springs. Rather on the easy side for Film replacements. Remebmer, on these models, the Film is also the Heater and Upper Fixing Roller. The Film is most likely on the pricey side for new, believe you can find rebuilds. Just keep in mind that the Film is still a lil' bit cheaper then the whole assy., and 8 out 10 times, its the Film that fails in the asssy

IF the LED screen shows "TONER IS NEARLY OUT", the "ERROR" light will constantly blink and the "ENERGY SAVER" Feature is disabled YET printer copy-fax-scan operation working properly, the solution will be to replace the toner cartridge. This will solve these issues.

Image Runner 3300 or (iR3300) copiers do not come with print/scan OPTIONS installed. These functions must be enabled by installing the correct 'kit'....same with fax option...again, these were 'options' when this machine was introduced, no print, scan, fax,...unless options were added to it. Yes, the buttons are there, however.....
